Joseph “LEONIDAS” Henle was born in Lompoc California on August 14, 1983. Joseph was put into Tae-Kwon-Do by his mother as a way to protect himself from bullies. Showing at aptitude for being a quick learner, Joseph was able to achieve his black belt in only 5 years. After becoming a state champion, Joseph followed his athletic prowess and started to participate in football, wrestling, and tennis while attending Lompoc High School.
After a successful career at Lompoc High School, Joseph continued his athletic career playing football at California Lutheran University. As a 6’1’’ 215 pound freshman, Joseph found out first hand how hard college athletics can be as he found himself amongst other great athletes. Through perseverance and hard work Joseph made it into a starting job by his junior year. Joseph continued to play with the Kinsmen through his undergraduate and graduate work. Joseph graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance in 2005 and his Masters of Business Administration in Financial Planning in 2008. After his collegiate career was over Joseph was looking for a new challenge and found it in Jiu Jitsu. While trying to find a new gym, Joseph stumbled on to Jiu Jitsu. One day, while on his way to Jiu Jitsu, Joseph walked into an MMA training session with Karo Parisian and was asked to join in the sparring. One training session was all it took to hook Joseph on MMA. After going 7-1 as an amateur, Leonidas won his first 3 Professional MMA fights 2 by submission before trying out for the “The Ultimate Fighter Liddell vs. Ortiz” the UFC reality show. After being selected to participate, Leonidas won his fight to get into the house by Armbar in the second round! With that he was a cast member and began his wild ride into the main stream. Leonidas is a member of the Reign Training Center (Owner Mark Munoz-UFC), KnuckleHeadz Boxing (Owner/Coach Joseph “Hoss” Janik) and Gracie Morumbi (Owner/Coach Fabio Leopoldo). With these teams Leonidas will become what he’s destined to become………Champion.
